1006 - Violent Femmes

You never read it in the newspapers
but I was this one time at an interview in Paris
answering a reporter woman
who had asked me a snap kind of question:
My Art is playing music the way I am doing it!
What's yours?
Looking smart for public and readers?
Do you really need to be looking smart?

A few minutes later
Me and the band left the meeting
And I postponed the interview with the reporter to midnight
Room 307
With a crappy bottle of red wine
with some La-Whatever name.

شما هيچ وقت نخوانديد در روزنامه ها اما
من يه روز در يك مصاحبهء مطبوعاتي در پاريس
در جواب زن خبرنگاري كه سوال نيش داري پرسيد
گفتم:
هنر من موزيك زدن به همين شيوه ايه كه انجام مي دهم.
هنر تو چيه؟
اين كه براي اجتماع و خواننده هات زيرك و تيزهوش جلوه كني؟
تو واقعا نياز داري نشان بدي زيرك و باهوش هستي؟

چند دقيقه بعدش من و گروه ميتينگ رو ترك كرديم
و بقيهء‌ مصاحبه با زن خبرنگار رو شخصا موكول كردم به نيمه شب
اتاق 307
با يك شيشه شراب آشغال فرانسوي
به نام لا-نمي دونم چي چي.د
